Dynamic gene expression profiling of the HepaRG™ cell line

A better molecular characterization of a cell line is a prerequisite for well-planned, educated, and targeted experimentation.

A better molecular characterization of a cell line is a prerequisite for well-planned, educated, and targeted experimentation. Dynamic gene expression profiling of the HepaRG™ cell line can provide answers to questions such as:

  • Is my gene or group of genes of interest expressed in the HepaRG™ cell line?

  • How the selected gene or set of genes are changing over time?

  • How long should my experiment be based on the dynamic signature of my most important characteristic for a certain endpoint gene(s)?

The dynamic gene expression profiling tool we have developed is a user-friendly platform for visual exploration of the gene expression changes over time of individual genes as well as of a group of genes. Additionally, the expression of different major and minor pathways (as annotated according to the Uniprot database), as well as toxicological categories, can be explored.

To showcase the usefulness of the tool, we have outlined several use cases using the toxicological categories as input.
