Toxicogenomics

About

Toxicogenomics is based on the vast improvements of genomic tools over the last decades. Those tools make it possible to analyse genomic expression modifications on a large scale (proteomics for instance) that can be linked to effects of substances within the organism. One goal of toxicogenomics is to predict toxicity of compounds by genomic modifications that are induced by them in silico. In silico approaches rely on already existing data that can be used and since many relations between genomic variability and compound remain unclear, further experimentation has to be done to be able to make accurate in silico predictions. Nevertheless, the efforts in this field are huge and authorities have begun to regulate risk assessment also for the field of toxicogenomics. [1]

With our in silico approaches we characterise your compounds based on data on their ability to induce toxicity by their change of genomic readables. Together with our partners we also provide in vivo and in vitro assays to assess your ingredients on toxicogenomics and provide cells and tissues which you can use for your own studies. SciLicium is based in Rennes (Brittany, France) and specialized in multi-omics data analysis and the development of workflows and web app solutions in bioinformatics. Over the last few years, SciLicium has also developed strong expertise in toxicogenomics (read-across, adverse outcome pathways, mechanisms of action) including predictive toxicogenomics based on statistical modeling (Machine and Deep Learning).
